De-Specialist works were awarded the acoustic upgrade and fit-out package, for the main Board Directors at Arup’s Head Office, located on Fitzroy Street, London. This upgrade package fell within the remit of our Framework agreement for refurbishment works to Arup properties.
The Project involved the acoustic upgrade of existing offices and the construction of additional office space and meeting rooms on the 6th floor of their Head Quarters; this included the installation of new double glazed acoustic and solid partitions, as well as upgraded existing solid partitions, ceilings and flooring.
The project was very successful in accommodating all client changes into agreed budgets and time scales.
The main challenge of the project saw the works undertaken directly adjacent to live office space within the Directors domain. Consequently this area was in continuous use throughout the day. In order to overcome this key challenge, all noisy and disruptive works that would affect the day to day client operations were carried out at night or weekends.
All deliveries of plant and material were preplanned and delivered to site out of hours to ensure that the office area encountered minimum disruption to the consultants and administration staff.
De-Specialist Works closely assisted with the design team in the development of a suitable acoustic insulation to achieve noise reduction values required.
