Redeveloping the largest dedicated rugby union venue in the world, the home of England Rugby, Twickenham Stadium, was always going to be a significant project.
The East Stand extension was the first redevelopment of the stadium since the South Stand was completed in 2008, and provides over 11,000sqm of hospitality and debenture space for 6,800 premium ticket holders.
Project challenges not only included working to accommodate incumbent contractors (including in-house teams), the installation of a large 12m steel beam into a very confined space at short notice due to unforeseen but important changes to the design but most importantly the programming and coordination of deliveries and waste away around major sporting and music events for this still live 82,000 capacity venue.
